Founders Emma Thomas and Amanda Frantzen are both trained as landscape architects at Harvard's Graduate School of Design. Together they are avid gardeners, practicing landscape architects and advocates for a greener, more livable city. As longtime Basel residents they are dedicated to channeling their passion for design, horticulture and sustainable urbanism into the city and its future.
Being both grounded in architecture and privately operated provides a unique brand opportunity to present mBdB through a new, fresher lens on two fronts. First, deviate & elevate. Whatever you do, don’t use green. Given the credentials and architectural focus of mBdB, we believe that taking an elevated approach to the branding makes sense. Secondly, support re-incarnation. Embrace a ‘green’ ‘un-green’ approach. Given that the mission of the foundation is to plant more trees, we need to be mindful of the impact our printed assets will have.
